Frequently asked Questions

What experience/ qualifications do I need to have to join?

The mentorship is set up for Physios who are looking to further their skills in Pregnancy and/or Pelvic Health. We want physiotherapists who have a passionate interest in supporting women but no experience is necessary.

How much time do I need to invest in this program?

The program is designed for business health professionals who are time poor. The program will require a minimum of 1 hour per week but if you have the time you can spend up to 3-4 hours per week reading resources on the portal.

How much of an investment is the program?

The investment is €1950 if paid in full at the beginning of the programme. In most private clinics this equates to the value of gaining one new patient per week.

How long is the programme?

6 months

How much experience do the mentors have?

Fiona has completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor and Continence at Bradford University and an MSc in Evidence-Based Practice in University College Cork. Fiona has 15 years of experience working in the area of Pregnancy and Pelvic Health in a variety of sectors, both public and private.

I work in a hospital. Is this program still worthwhile for me?

Absolutely! Fiona has 9 years experience working in acute hospital maternity wards and outpatient departments. She understands first-hand that running an efficient and effective maternity ward requires a specific skill set often not taught in any Pelvic Health courses. In both the inpatient and outpatient setting there are often additional challenges related to hospital policies and procedures and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

I thoroughly enjoyed this webinar! It was a wonderful experience for me as a budding Physiotherapist in Women’s Health. Her presentation was very pertinent to current practice. Fiona Healy is indeed a great teacher. She knows what she’s doing!

WEBINAR ATTENDEE

I learned more about the physical and mechanical pieces of PGP that helped me to better understand what I was experiencing and know what things I could do to ease some of my discomfort. The exercises and massage ball moves are simple and easy to put into practice. Plus the sense of community was tremendous. It was great to get together with a group of women also going through something similar and to know I wasn’t alone and that I was supported.

BUMP ROOM MEMBER

Been able to continue exercise during pregnancy was so important for me as I wanted to maintain strength and fitness to help my post natal recovery. When I developed PGP I had to stop walking which was a little depressing but being able to continue the Pilates with the bump room was great – not only got exercise but for sanity too. I also liked the recording being available as I always repeated the class alone at home at least once more per week
